Latrobe LLC was founded in 2010 in Uniontown, PA by Latanyua T. Robinson as a response to the reduction in sub contracting opportunities for American manufacturers caused by an increase in outsourcing to China and India primarily due to production costs. The original business model focused on assisting local manufacturers and fabricators to compete globally by using existing machining capacity more effectively and efficiently to improve operating costs or to re-tool for manufacturing similar products used in different industries. The business evolved to developing and recruiting talent advocating for more technical education that promotes a pathway from Employee to Entrepreneur to Employer. Latrobe’s Mission: Economic Empowerment through Education + work Experience + Entrepreneurship. Since 2018, the company operates primarily out of Memphis/Marion, AR (mid-southern region of AR- MS-TN) and is certified as a DBE and a MWBE.
